Bemm River  - one of East Gippsland premier fishing destinations.  Bemm River is a favourite with anglers, bird-watchers, bushwalkers and eco tourists, who appreciate its natural beauty and prevalent wildlife. Located around 450 kilometres from Melbourne along the Princes Highway, the town sits on the far eastern fringe of the Cape Conran Coastal Park. The river itself winds down from the mountains and is fed by the Errinundra River, McKenzie River and Combienbar River, as well as many creeks and streams, before meeting the ocean at Sydenham Inlet.

The town is nestled between the river, the inlet and the sea.

No petrol is sold in Bemm River so make sure you have plenty of fuel in your car and your boat.

This is the place to come if you want to fish for bream, flathead, salmon, trevally, tailor, esturary perch, not to mention the surf fishing.
Luderick Point Memorial Park, opposite the hotel, is where the children can access the playground whilst the family enjoy the bbq facilities and enjoy fishing from the bank.  Luderick Park  also has a Cenotaph which overlooks Sydenham Inlet. A new toilet block facility is also at this location.

There is three fishing platforms around town if you don't have a boat or alternatively, there is boat hire available.

For those who enjoy cycling, bird watching, beach walking and many other relaxing activities, Bemm River has a lot to offer.  This 'hidden treasure' location will treat you to tranquility.

Bemm River is not only a beautiful holiday location, but is a peaceful and tranquil place to reside. This small close knit community has the facility of a daily school bus to transport local children to Orbost to attend primary and secondary school.  Residents can attend weekly craft groups, social tennis or activities such as carpet bowls and exercises.
